A B C ‘s of Vitamins

Did you know that your body needs over 40 vitamins and minerals to function properly? Getting those daily vitamins can be a challenge. If you’re tired of taking dozens of supplements to get your daily dose, try eating your vitamins instead.

Most of the food we should be eating are packed with more than enough vitamins and minerals our body requires. I personally would much rather eat my vitamins than pop dozens of expensive vitamins. Especially when it comes to the important vitamin D requirements. A simple way to get your vitamin D is just 15 to 20 minutes of sun a day. Skip the sunscreen, unless you plan to be in the sun more than 20 minutes.

My vitamin D levels were dangerously low, and my doctor wanted me to immediately begin taking prescribed dosages of vitamin D. I never realized my levels were so low, but I didn’t want to take mass dosages of vitamins. I spoke with my doctor and agreed that if I didn’t get my level up in two months, I would take his prescribed dosage. My doctor was shocked when after two months my vitamin D levels increased to normal. He was even more surprised that I increased my levels by spending 20 minutes a day in the sun, without sunscreen, and increased my fruit and vegetable intake.
